在youtube上搜索了一下大闹天宫（uproar in heaven），看到那些外国人在大闹天宫的视频下对这部动画片的评价，有些感慨。这些外国人对这部动画片评价之高，完全到出乎想象的地步，说成是推崇备至半点不过分，其实这部大闹天宫水准质量技术之高，确实是登峰造极，没有外国人评价，我也就是这么认为的。可见好的东西就是好的，民族就是世界的，真正能让自己国家人衷心喜爱的东西，也必定会让其他国家的人感到叹为观止。

　　I wonder, either this movie is exceptionally good or everything else in TV back then was simply so crap that it just had to stand out. It was back in the days of the Swedish TV monopoly with only two channels on and cartoons was an exceptional rarity.

　　I’ve watched this movie as well and according to David’s chronology I was at most 5 and a half years old. However I remember some of it. In addition to what already have been said, I should say that I really liked the music in this movie. Very, traditionally Chinese in my uneducated ears, and very neat, good at setting the mood. Also liked the animations, nice colors, and the story was cool. This monkey took crap from noone and he fought the Gods even. That he himself was some sort of divine being I don’t think I got when I watched it. He also had this fighting staff which he shrank and hid inside his ear when not using. All in all a great movie.

　　I just watched my Swedish video of Monkey King, it’s been 24 years since I saw it the last time. And it’s clear to me that things has changed since then. Animations is pretty ok, nothing more. The quality of the recording is bad, but the worst thing is the horrible dubbing. There’s only one voice, more like a narrator, after the dialogue between the characters is finished the narrator explains (short version so to speak)in Swedish what was said, not very entertaining. Still I like the story very much. I would love to see a remastered subtitled or properly English dubbed version on DVD someday.

　　I just watched this this week and really enjoyed, even without English subs. One thing, though, according to the bcdb.com entry, the original running time was 120 minutes, this version is about 85 minutes. Did not notice except the ending was possibly trimmed. Otherwise, fantastic!
　　　　
　　Another plus that I didn’t realize is that the disc also includes the 1941 b/w film Princess Iron Fan about 75 minutes long. What a great unexpected bonus.

这部动画片是中国动画的颠峰之作，也是当时世界上制作最华丽的动画电影，没有之一，就是最华丽的。当时在国内的票房达到了惊人的1.5亿人民币，那时的电影票价不过才0.5元而已，你可以想象这是何等的成功？如果换算成现在就是150亿（虽然这样算起来很可笑），当时这部动画电影还在世界上巡演，只是国外的票房没有统计过。
　　
　　首先，这部伟大的作品，请允许我很含蓄的称他为“伟大的作品”。
　　
　　原作我就不多说了，吴承恩。
　　
　　这部动画片的制作人和导演是中国动画的一代宗师，万氏兄弟，万古蟾和万赖鸣兄弟。也是我除了日本的手冢治虫和宫崎骏两位大师以外，最崇拜的一代大师。万氏兄弟甚至可以说是日本动画的一代鼻祖。
　　
　　《大闹天宫》这部作品，是万氏兄弟和当时上海美术电影制片厂的巅峰之作。采用的各种动画技术，在当时那个还没有技术专利的年代来讲，总共采用的14项十分独特的原创专利。比如金箍棒的光源技术，水下世界的扭曲技术。《大闹天宫》是万氏兄弟毕生心血的结晶。当时，这部动画片，在世界电影展和世界动画片展上独领风骚，获金奖无数，可谓满载而归。在当时全世界也是获得了一片喝彩的。
　　
　　很多外国人，了解《monkey King》，并非是因为看过《西游记》原作，或者看了央视后来的经典电视剧《西游记》。他们对Monkey King的认识，正是来自于《大闹天宫》这部动画片。这部动画片在世界各地友谊巡展的时候（非常遗憾，当时中国政府没有票房记录这个概念，因此采取了友谊巡展的模式），几乎是场场爆满。外国人第一次接触中国动画片，很多人观看后都惊叹其华丽和独特。
　　
　　众所周知，日本动画的宗师是手冢治虫。这位创作了《铁臂阿童木》，《森林大帝》，《三眼神童》，《怪医秦博士》，并把日本动画推向全世界的一代大师，其作品充满了对世界美好的渴望，对人类和动物之间以及世界环境主题的警示。每次记者问及手冢治虫是受了谁的影响开始从一名著名的医生，转而开始动画创作的。手冢都会提到两个中国人的名字：万古蟾和万赖鸣。他正是在上海医学交流会期间，观看了两兄弟早期的《铁扇公主》后，被深刻感染，放下手术刀，拿起画笔开始从事漫画创作的。《铁扇公主》这部动画片创作于1940年，正处于日本侵略者、军阀、流氓混乱统治下的上海。
　　
　　《大闹天宫》是一部具有深刻寓意的动画片。他创作于1960年，完成于1964年。历时4年，期间2次推倒重做。期间很多经典的人物至今大家仍记忆由新。善于和平谈判、妄图收买妖猴的太白金星；本事不大却一副臭做官架子的马天君；自以为神通广大坚持用武力镇压的托塔天王和哪咤两父子；身躯庞大却不堪一击的巨灵神；长相怪异能力各异的四大天王；以及最终能和悟空正面交锋并不分上下的二郎真君。这一个个天界的神话角色，被这部动画片演绎的活龙活现。我们其实不难联系到1960年代的中国。一个翻天覆地，百废待兴的新中国，来自于世界各地尤其是社会主义苏联和美国两大帝国的假和平或真武力的威胁。当时的中国，就像是个闹翻了天的孙猴子。
　　
　　《大闹天宫》是当时国家领导人毛泽东、周恩来最爱看的电影之一。也正因为《大闹天宫》的影响力，周总理深刻认识到动画片对一个民族的重要性，中央才大力拨款，不惜一切代价发展中国动画业。万古蟾和万赖鸣时任上海电影制片厂的总制片。开发出了一大批后来我们喜爱的中国动画片，也培养了一大批当时我们称为连环画的中国漫画家。
　　
　　在那个时代，哪怕是现在，《大闹天宫》都是及其经典的动画作品。不光是因为他是中国动画片，也因为他曾经是1964年那个时代，全世界最华丽的动画电影。时至今日，《大闹天宫》里孙悟空与天斗与神斗，以及他爱好和平不拘束于天庭和命运安排的规则，动用武力则充满了智慧、幽默和神奇的形象。一直激励这我们一批又一批的50后、60后、70后、80后，在艰难险阻面前，不畏惧不退缩的Monkey King精神。

　　PS：《大闹天宫》获得的奖项有第十三届卡罗维发利国际电影节短片特别奖、第二届电影百花奖最佳美术片奖、第二十二届伦敦国际电影节最佳影片奖等等。《大闹天宫》在中国国内的票房记录为1.5亿人民币，当时电影票价为0.5元。如果按照现在50元换算的话，应该是150亿人民币（也许这样算比较可笑）。在国外是友好巡演，未统计过票房收入。
